EPC / SEPA QR Code Generator

Make SEPA bank transfers a one-scan task.

An EPC QR code, also called a GiroCode, encodes a SEPA credit transfer with the recipient name, IBAN, BIC, amount, and reference. European banking apps read it to pre-fill a transfer, so customers and donors pay the right account without manual entry.

Always test your QR code before using it. Heavy styling or low color contrast can make a code hard to scan.

What is a EPC/SEPA QR code?

An EPC QR code, also known as a GiroCode, encodes a SEPA credit transfer using the European Payments Council standard. It carries the recipient name, IBAN, BIC, amount, and a reference, so a European banking app can read it and pre-fill a transfer to the right account without anyone typing an IBAN by hand.

How EPC/SEPA QR codes work in Crafty QR

Static or dynamic

Crafty QR builds the EPC069-12 payload that GiroCode-compatible banking apps expect, with the amount in euros. A static EPC code carries that payload directly, so scanning it in a supporting bank app pre-fills the transfer and the code never expires. You can also make it dynamic, which points to a Crafty QR page that shows the transfer details and tracks scans, so you can update the amount or reference later or count usage. EPC/SEPA QR codes are a Crafty QR Pro feature.

EPC/SEPA QR code tips
